Beethoven, Chaser & the Pilleys

Letting Grief Take Its Course
Also listen on

Beethoven, Chaser, and the Pilleys (Aurora Art)

Jordan reflects on letting the cycle of grief play out the way it needs to, and on the lessons that can be learned from it. He introduces two important dogs in his life: Beethoven, his childhood dog, and Chaser the Border Collie, who had the largest tested memory of any non-human animal.

Jordan reads from the first piece of writing he made as an adult that told him he could write with heart. He shares a moment from Chaser: Unlocking the Genius of the Dog Who Knows a Thousand Words by Dr. John Pilley and Hilary Hinzmann, and from Chasing Joy, a children’s story by Jordan and Pilley Bianchi.

A mini-documentary Jordan edited for Dr. Pilley and a song, “Blood Is Thicker Than Water” by Pilley Bianchi, also make appearances.
